 | Reverend James C. McClarey Reverend Jim became a minister in 1986. After serving in several Illinois communities, he came to Savoy United Methodist Church in 1996. He is fond of saying, "When God's Love is in us, good things flow out of us" as he guides the congregation in becoming an authentic, joyful community. He loves to watch the interaction between long time members and the children in the congregation as the older generations embrace change and welcome new members into the rich history of Savoy UMC. Having been raised in central Illinois, the son of a minister, he feels a sense of pride when he is able to be a part of another's own call to ministry. He is glad to serve in the United Methodist denomination where he feels there is a good balance between heartfelt faith and intellectual inquisitiveness, strength of belief and grace in its application, and evangelism and justice ministries. When not working on the various church ministries, Rev. Jim can often be found on the basketball court or other athletic pursuits. Rev. Jim's loves to watch God work though him to change lives and his door is always open. Contact Rev. Jim:
