The mission for our youth at Savoy UMC is,
To partner with parents as we help youth:
FOCUS, and fix their eyes on Jesus,
in order to know the Truth.
Youth Ministry During COVID-19
The church has never been a building ... it is the body of believers, connected and unified by Jesus Christ and His redeeming work of salvation on the cross. There is no virus, tragedy, pandemic or season that can change this.
So we are still here!
Here's how our community of youth are connecting at this point (it seems to change often, as we come up with new ideas, resources, etc.).
Daily Group Chat (text and GroupMe app) ~~~ We share scripture, encouragement, positive challenges / games, worship and more.
Weekly Large Group ~~~ Sundays from 6:00-8:00pm, we gather at the church building to check-in face to face, play games and dig into scripture while asking questions that matter. (bring a chair and your face mask)
Prayer Point ~~~ Tuesday mornings at 7:30am on zoom, we are coming together to pray for whatever and wherever the Holy Spirit leads us.
To get an invitation to our zoom meetings or jump in to our community in anyway, email Rebeccah Anderson at firstname.lastname@example.org
Our FOCUS youth ministry serves all middle school and high school youth (6th-12th grades).
We meet during the school year, each Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00pm
at the church building to develop community and engage God's Word
through games, discussion and spiritual disciplines.
We provide mission opportunities to serve our community once a month,
and also take a week-long mission trip during the summer.
Our ability to slow down and FOCUS on Jesus is in all we do (Hebrews 12)!
Sunday evenings begin with a snack supper all together and
then separate into age groups (middle and high school).
Each age group is led by adult sponsors, invested in the mission and covenant for our youth.
Parents are asked to help provide supper by signing up below.
Wednesday Bible Study
During the school year, we meet from 6:30-8:00pm for Bible study.
Guys and girls meet separately to grow in our identity in Christ by studying scripture
and to help each other remain accountable to His commands.
